Staff Memo
December 5-9, 2016
Monday, December 5
- Advent Prayer Service over the intercom at 8:15 lead by grades 5/6 - please just incorporate it somehow into your morning announcements
- Today is the start of "Hour of Code," and it runs through the 11th. If you have not signed up yet, please register your class here: https://hourofcode.com/us/learn. I will send out google doc so you can sign up to use the computer lab.
Tuesday, December 6
- Non-uniform day if students bring in a can of food
- St. Nick's Day! PTO will be putting treats in the kids shoes starting at 10:30. Each student needs to put one of their shoes in the hallway and teachers need to make sure their doors are closed and no one is in the hallway. I am guessing it will take between 15 and 20 minutes to fill all the shoes.
- Strategic Planning Mtg #2 @ 6 PM -- CANCLED
Wednesday, December 7
- Fire drill, time - 1 PM
Thursday, December 8
- Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary - this is a holy day of obligation. Unfortunately, there will not be a school Mass. Please remind your students of their Mass obligation.
- There will be Mass at Visitation Church on Wednesday night at 7 PM.
- If you would like to use the readings for today's Mass in your classroom they are here: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/120816.cfm I have a feeling Father will be asking the kids about this feast day...this is a tricky one because it is about Mary's conception free of original sin, not Jesus even though we celebrate it in December.
Friday, December 9
- Mass lead by Grade 6. The readings for today's Mass are here: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/120916.cfm
Classroom Teachers - 90 Day Evaluation Meetings
Advent Program
What: The Annual School Advent Program
When: Thursday, December 15th, 7:00
Where: Visitation Catholic Church
Who: The Whole Student Body!
It’s that time of year again! We’ve been preparing for the Advent program for nearly all of fall, and now it’s time to perform. Here is information families and parents need to know in preparation for the concert on December 15th. The time of the concert is 7:00, and all students need to be dropped off in their classrooms no later than 6:30. After the concert, students may be picked up from their classrooms. Students are to wear their holiday best – preferably skirts and dresses for girls and slacks and ties for boys. No sneakers! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at solenbergerv@visitationschool.net, or at school as well. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Looking Ahead
- Don't forget about your staff secret pal!
- 12/12 - Father Wichert's 40th birthday! If each class wants to make him a poster or cards that would be very much appreciated! There are some people that are paying for him to go to Green Bay to watch the Seahawks, so if you would like to give him a card with cash, that would be very much appreciated.
- 1/29 - Catholic School's Week Mass & Open House teacher attendance is expected
