1. Foundational Knowledge
My classroom is set up with a fun yet academically functional design. I invest time setting up my classroom environment as I see its purpose as a means to provide my students with a safe place where they feel comfortable to take risks in their learning.
I designed my theme around Superheroes. Just like my students, superheroes must also learn and work in teams with others of different talents and abilities in order to achieve a common goal.

4. Educational System Perspective
I am actively involved in my site's School Leadership Team (SLT) as 4th grade representative and team lead where I collaborate and discuss issues with school administrators, support staff, and other teachers. I offer specific insight and perspectives with regard to 4th grade, departmentalization, 1:1 technology initiatives, ELA curriculum content, and SFA at the Wings level.
My perspective is also expanded to the district level as a curriculum writer where I work with coaches, coordinators, consultants and fellow teachers within the district.
All of these insights allow me to see the bigger picture which directly links to how I can help my students achieve.
