Preparing for College and Career Day Thursday, March 2nd
On Thursday, March 2, BHS Team 2023 seniors will participate in a “Preparing for College and Career Day.” Senior students should not report to the BHS campus on this day. BHS Staff will be testing current Junior students for the School-Day SAT. 9th and 10th grade students will follow their normal school day schedule.
BHS Seniors will be selecting from two options to explore or confirm their post-secondary plans. Students will either visit a college/university (in-person or virtual) or complete a job shadow/ work experience on this day. If a student does not complete this form or chooses not to participate in one of the two options provided, they will be required to attend school that day. The PCC day will not count towards the two (2) college visit days each student is allotted for Senior year. This day is built-in as an additional day for exploring post-secondary plans.
Students who do not participate in a college visit or job shadow experience will work in the Senior Academy study area until SAT testing has concluded. Once testing has concluded, those students will report to their afternoon classes.
Please complete this form by Friday, February 24, 2023.

Attendance and Appointment Call outs
At the high school, we do not have a dedicated attendance line. If your student is going to absent/ late (due to illness, appointment, etc), please call the team office as early as possible at (317) 852-2258 ext 1701 or email jtewell@brownsburg.k12.in.us and Mrs. Tewell will mark the student’s attendance. Students are responsible for checking Schoology for missing work and contacting their teachers to see what they missed during the absence. Teachers can be messaged through Schoology or PowerSchool. Lastly, if a student misses school the day before and is aware of a test or quiz, students should expect to take the missing assessment the day they return to school.
If your student needs to be picked up early for an appointment or other reason, please notify Mrs. Tewell in the team office as early in the day as possible. We will send a pass to the student with their dismissal time. Only a parent or guardian may call to release a student from school, but you may have anyone pick him/her up. Parents do not have to come in to sign the student out. Your student will sign themselves out in the Team 2023 office. Seniors leave thru door 12/ senior academy. Please note that it is extremely difficult to find students once they get to the cafeteria for lunch. Some classes (like PE, Choir, Band, Guard) are unable to answer phones during class. This may result in the student running late to their appointment, which we do not want to happen.

BCSC Food and Clothing Pantry
Thanks to the hard work of community and staff volunteers and Applied Skills students in the Collaborators for Success program at BHS, the BCSC Food and Clothing Pantry continues to serve many families in Brownsburg through a partnership with Gleaners Food Bank. BCSC families have also contributed donations to help make the pantry a great resource for our community.
The pantry will serve families again THURSDAY, 11/3 from 3pm-5:30pm in a drive thru setting and always on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursdays of the month. Visitors can pull up to door #7 at the ALPHA/Harris Academy building, 725 C South Green Street.
If you have questions about the pantry, please contact Tracy Damone at tdamone@brownsburg.k12.in.us.
