Dear Winter Park Band families,
The Band program had a great week last week!
Congratulations to the Winter Park Winter Guard on capping off a successful season at FFCC Championships in Daytona Beach on Friday! Our Color Guard Director Kiana Young has done a marvelous job coaching and leading this team throughout the school year and we are so glad to have her at Winter Park. The Guard will finish out their year with their Spring Color Guard Showcase on Wednesday, May 3 in the Auditorium.
All last week, three Winter Park Band students participated in this year's OCPS All-County Jazz Band festival and performed with High School Jazz Ensemble I. Congratulations on all of the hard work you put in over the course of this week and all of the work that has led you to this point!

Last week also marked the beginning of our Percussion Help Clinics. These sessions are for all percussionists and students interested in playing percussion on either drumline or front ensemble for the 2023 SOTW. Sessions are on most Wednesdays from 6 - 8 PM. Attending these sessions will allow you to learn everything you need to know before Marching Percussion Placement Auditions on Wednesday, May 3 in the Band Room.

Winter Guard Corner - From Mr. Smith
The Winter Guard completed their fabulous season on Friday at FFCC Championships in Daytona Beach! They finished the year with a score of 66.86, and Guard Captain Katina Ebalo scored an 86 on her solo. Congratulations on a fantastic season everyone!

New York Tour Update
New York Participants and Chaperones,
A couple of new updates this week:
Final Payment/Balance Due Date Pushed to Monday, April 3. Due to a delay in the final invoice from the travel company, I have pushed the due date for the final New York Tour payment to Monday, April 3. The amount for the final payment should be sent to all tour families early this week. All students and parent chaperones must be paid in full for the trip by Monday, April 3 or risk loosing their spot.
Friday, March 31 is still the deadline to purchase "Cancel For Any Reason" Insurance for the trip. Please read over the literature at www.winterparkhsband.com/uploads/2/3/8/5/23853324/student_deluxe_with_cfar.pdf as well as emails about the WeTravel online portal from back in the Fall semester.
The New York Tour Mandatory Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 23 from 7 - 8 PM. This meeting will cover all essential information for the trip from the final itinerary to what to pack. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory for all student participants and at least one of each student participant's parent/guardian. It has been added to the Band's Cut Time calendar - please be sure it has been added to your family's as well.

2023-2024 Wind Symphony Auditions - April 10-14
Audition materials for Wind Symphony Audiditons are now posted on the Band website at www.winterparkhsband.com/auditions.
Audition Requirements
Brass / Woodwind:
- Chromatic Scale, both ascending and descending, in the range indicated on your Prepared Etude sheet.
- Prepared Etudes – available on the WPHS Band website at www.winterparkhsband.com/auditions and/or from your director.
- A short Sight-Reading excerpt.
Percussion:
- Mallet Etude, Timpani Etude, and Snare Drum Etude – available on the WPHS Band website at www.winterparkhsband.com/auditions and/or from your director.
- A short Sight-Reading excerpt on snare drum and mallet.

To access Cut Time, follow these steps.
- Go to CutTime.net and click “SIGN IN” in the top right-hand corner.
- Enter your Username or Email and Password You are now on your profile, where you can access our calendar and handouts and files. Click “Update Info” tab to input or update contact information. Don’t forget to click “Update” when you are finished.
- Click the “Finances” tab to view financial statements.
