MMW List Server Message
December 12, 2014
Hello Maureen M. Welch Parents,
It was a such a fantastic week at school! The highlight was definitely the Holiday Concerts that took place Thursday morning and evening. The children on stage sounded fantastic and it looked like they really had fun. Thanks so much for your support in bringing the students early to school for rehearsals and providing encouragement at home for practicing.
If I were to think of any minor blemish to this week, it had to be the snowy weather that we had on Thursday morning. The snow made for slippery conditions around the school property. The maintenance staff did an excellent job in preparing the walkways, but I have concerns about the steps used by the children who are dropped off in the car rider line. If there are slippery conditions in the future, we may ask parents to continue to follow the drop-off route, but the staff will then direct vehicles to move to the front of the building to drop off children so that they can avoid this potentially hazardous area.
Several weeks ago, children who are involved in our Student Council at MMW wrote letters to service men and women overseas. We received a response from one of the recipients of our letters, Officer Mike Sepielli of the US Air Force. Officer Sepielli and his unit were deployed last July and will be overseas throughout the holidays. He is also a Council Rock graduate who attended Richboro Elementary School and Richboro Middle School. Below is his response to the students' letters:
“The letters were so awesome! They really made me feel like a hero. I read every one and passed them out. My friend and I are going to write back. Thank you. It made my day.”
– Officer Mike Sepielli
The Mother-Daughter Event has been planned for January 16, 2015, and it will be a ladies only night of painting fun. Mothers and daughters will each create a masterpiece. Two sessions will be available: 5:45-7:30 pm or 8:00-9:30 pm. Registration will open next week. The PTO is looking for L.I.N.C.S volunteers who are excited about art. Contact Michele Cagle or Merri Lewis if you would like to volunteer.
The Yearbook Committee is searching for photographers this school year to help out with our 2014-2015 yearbook. Parents can sign up through our SignUpGenius for grades/events they would like to help with. We are looking for people with SLR or good quality point and shoot cameras to capture all the special moments for our yearbook. Please contact Nicole Mutarelli at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. Thank you in advance for your help.

After our morning concert assembly, I spoke with the students and discussed the need to continue to work hard and give their best efforts until our Winter Break. The holiday season is filled with such excitement for the children, and the teachers will continue to provide meaningful and engaging learning activities for the children each day. I hope that parents would reinforce this message at home with their children. Thank you.
Enjoy a wonderful weekend. E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles!
