It's necessary to keep a normal water balance between the cells and body fluids. Potassium also has a very important role in the response of nerves to stimulation and in the contraction of muscles. Also, cellular enzymes need potassium to function properly.
What happens if you don't get enough?
If you don't have enough potassium in your blood, it can cause a high blood pressure in your body.

Fruits
Such as bananas and oranges are high in potassium.
Vegetables
Broccoli and carrots are high in potassium
Grains
Wheat and maze are rich in sources of potassium.
