Beliefs and Traditions/Sacraments
Muslims believe that you should pray, follow the Five Pillars, and have prayer every Friday at a mosque. Muslims also have certain traditions/sacraments they follow such as, The Five Pillars Of Islam(pictured right). The Five Pillars Of Islam include: a faith statement saying there is only one god (Allah) and Mohammad is his messenger;pray facing Mecca 5 times daily, charity, fasting, and Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca at least once)
Place of Worship and Worship Leaders
Muslims worship or pray/gather in a Mosque, but a minaret is used to call people to prayer. Prayer leaders are called Imam and the religious teacher/leaders are called Mullah.
Holy Book and Holidays
Muslims have a holy book called a Qu'ran, which is believed to be the first book of literature in the Arabic language.Muslims also celebrate holidays such as, Ramadan, and Eid al Fitr, which celebrates Allah giving Mahammad a message and then the end of Ramadan, which brings gifts, food, family, and thanks
Holy City
Jerusalem is a Holy city for Muslims because the Dome of the Rock is located there.(shrine located in old Jerusalem)
