Dear Wrightstown Families,
The month of March is packed full of fun events for students and families to enjoy! We kicked off the month with a week - long birthday celebration for Dr. Seuss and held our second Camp Read - In Night! It was wonderful to see so many families come out to support the love of reading! We are looking forward to STEM Night on March 14, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. Be sure to join us for an evening of science, technology, engineering, and mathematical fun!
The Annual WES Spring Fair is fast approaching! This year’s theme is a Circus Carnival with a chili cook-off! We are looking forward to a great fair with lots of food, games, a photo booth, outdoor sports challenges, and raffle baskets!
WES looks forward to hosting our second annual Grandparents’ Breakfast on Friday, March 31, 2017. We hope you will join us for a continental breakfast, photo booth fun, and trivia!
The Scholastic Book Fair will run from March 21-24 with a family night on March 23rd from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Information from our librarian, Ms. Clark is included in this newsletter.
Students will enjoy a PTO sponsored assembly titled, Musicopia: Speak Up and Drum. We are very excited for this opportunity and thank our PTO for providing assemblies through the school year.
This month students and families have the opportunity to participate in Habit #6: Synergize - Together is Better! This activity challenges families to form a “dream team” to create a new invention! News from the Library
In Kindergarten, we are continuing to explore how the alphabet helps organize the library. Also, we explored the difference between non-fiction and fiction using books about birds, in preparation for nature writer Kim Kurki’s visit to Wrightstown.
In 1st grade, we are wrapping up our reading of the PA Young Reader’s Choice Award books. We have also started learning how to summarize and express our opinions about books using book reviews.
In 2nd grade, to prepare for nature writer Kim Kurki’s visit to Wrightstown, we have completed researching different bird species using the online database PebbleGo.
In 3rd grade, we have been exploring how to search for books in the Destiny online catalog and locate books within the four sections of the library using call numbers.
In 4th grade, students continue to research landmarks and places to visit within their assigned states using online resources.

Picked up my bus driver’s coffee cup
Helped a classmate study
Wrote a thank you letter to my teacher
Picked up trash in the hallway
