LMS Tiger Talk
May 19, 2023
Principal's Message
And happy Final Friday of the 22-23 for our students! It's hard to believe, but today is the last Friday of the year with our student's last day of school coming up next Thursday, 5/25. We'll spend that day celebrating with our 8th grade students participating in a superlatives award ceremony followed by a day at Grand Sands playing volleyball, eating pizza and hanging out with friends, while our 7th grade students have fun with some team-based celebrations back at LMS. Big thanks to the M/INT PTSA for their contributions and support of these days, bringing big fun to our students in celebrating the end of an awesome school year!
We hosted a great Career Day at LMS this past week with over 15 presenters speaking to our students on careers such as Health Sciences and Medicine, Engineering, Business, and Law Enforcement. Our students were engaged and awesome listeners, and expressed excitement to their teachers about the day. I want to thank all of our parent and community volunteers who gave time up from their busy schedules to spend time with our awesome students. We couldn't have done it without you!
We wish our 8th grade, DC travelers a safe journey home tonight and we look forward to welcoming them back. It sounds like they have been having an amazing (and very busy!) trip. Our 8th graders not traveling have been having some fun of their own at LMS this week with trips to iSpace, the bowling alley and Cincinnati Zoo. Good stuff!
Take care and Go Tigers!

LHS Latin Honors System Announcement
Loveland High School is excited to announce the implementation of a Latin Honors system beginning with the Class of 2023! The Latin Honors system recognizes individual academic excellence based on cumulative weighted grade point average at the conclusion of the 7th semester. The following criteria will be used:
- Cum Laude: 3.5 - 3.749
- Magna Cum Laude: 3.75 - 3.999
- Summa Cum Laude : 4.0 and higher
Seniors will be recognized at the graduation ceremony by wearing an honors cord to signify their achievement.
For the Classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026, the implementation of the Latin Honors system allows us to recognize more students for their individual academic accomplishments rather than for their rank in the class. We will continue to recognize the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of these classes but will no longer recognize the “Top 10”.
Beginning with the Class of 2027, we continue our shift to focus on individual achievement using the Latin Honors system. We will celebrate students’ personal accomplishments without regard to their rank in the class. In doing so, we will no longer recognize a Valedictorian or a Salutatorian for the Classes of 2027 and beyond.
We believe the Latin Honors system will allow for the recognition of individual academic excellence as students strive to achieve their personal goals throughout their years at Loveland High School. In addition to the Latin Honors, we will continue to recognize students for National Honor Society, Honors Diploma, Military, Thespian, Teaching Professions Academy, Hope Squad, and Green Team. We look forward to celebrating more students than ever before!
Upcoming iSpace Events

Students tap into their creativity to conceptualize and design innovative ideas and inventions. The weeklong camp is packed with hands-on activities where they learn special drawing techniques and showcase amazing inspirations by building beautiful prototype models. Whether they want to design a bridge, home, toy, or something brand new, students will use the engineering design process to bring their ideas to life. Click this link for more information and to sign up for ART-gineering at iSPACE.
