Have a WONDERFUL holiday weekend!

Thank you to Coach Atoi for another couple days of Playworks support. All classes learned a new game during a bonus Recess 101 session. Also, our Junior Coaches flexed their leadership skills and problem solved together around common issues that arise during game play. It's so fun seeing everyone playing together on our playground!

See you on Tuesday - no school Monday, May 27.

Big picture

Reading Program Update for May

This month the winning class was Mrs. Berg's first graders! They won a free kids meal at Panda Express! The Pizza Hut coupons were only offered through March so this month the students who turned in their reading calendars are receiving a free slice of pizza or a salad at Kwik Trip.

This years overall winning class race was very tight...the top three classes were in third place, Mrs. Schiefelbeins kinders, second place was Ms. Lauer's second graders and the winning class was for the year was Mrs. Berg's first graders!!! A special treat will be coming your way before the end of the school year!

Message from Mrs. Runingen for the 4th and 5th Grade Choir

Thank you to all the 4th and 5th grade choir members for a great choir concert and a fantastic year of singing! A big thanks to all the choir parents for supporting their students by getting them to rehearsals and performances, and for those who were able to chaperone. Our choir rehearsals are officially done for the school year. Best wishes to the fifth graders as they go off to middle school. To the fourth graders, I will see you all in the fall. Keep on singing!

Safe Arrival - Available Now!

Hillcrest is now fully up and running with the district's new attendance reporting system, Safe Arrival. Safe Arrival allows you to report an absence or appointment at any time from your phone. Our attendance line is still available for reporting absences but we encourage you to give Safe Arrival a try. We know you will find it to be an easy to use system that is available at times that work for YOU!

1) By far the easiest way to interact with the new system is by downloading the app on your phone and signing up for an account.

2) If you are not an app user and prefer to use your computer signup and login at https://go.schoolmessenger.com/

3) The phone option is still available by calling the attendance line at school. There will be a menu there to transfer your call into the new system. You may however, want to use the direct number 1-866-490-7371. By dialing direct from a phone that is registered with the district, the system should recognize the number you are calling from and be able to quickly identify your children and allow you to confirm their absence.
