Brain Development
By Kierstin Darr
Keep it simple and natural
- Changing their diaper: Don't want them to have a rash
- Cuddling with them: Makes them feel loved.
- Giving them a bath: Staying clean
Match experiences with child's mental ability
Playing in a playpen: They are using their sense to detect the different colors and shapes and sounds.
Textured books: They are using a sense; touch.
Practice makes perfect
Reading after bath
Waking up and eating breakfast
By doing a routine the baby learns what to expect.
REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION is key!
Actively involve baby
Read with the kid and let him/her turn the pages.
Don't help the baby with everything, let them try to figure it out.
Provide variety, but avoid overload.
1. Sound, so play music and dance
2. HAve different textured objects
3. Have many different colors
Avoid pushing children
If they don't like what you are giving to them, don't keep putting it in their face
If they don't want to try a need food, let they be, don't force them to eat it.
