Library and Odyssey Updates!
Library News:
Thank you all for making this year’s book fair the most successful ever! Thank you for purchasing books for the library and teachers classrooms. Additionally, all teachers received a ‘free’ book from their wish list.
Thank you to all who volunteered to work, with a special shout out to Sunny Agans and Karen Slimocosky for not only working, but also organizing all the volunteers to work.
Odyssey News:
Due to the overwhelming response for grades 2 and 3 for lunchtime Odyssey, we will be separating the students by grade level. Grade 3 Odyssey is now 11:45 in the library on Wednesdays. Grade 2 Odyssey is now at 12:05 in the library on Wednesdays.
We are still in need of parent coaches for Odyssey of the Mind teams - please contact Mrs. Lauterman.
Makerspace Updates
Donations:
We will use a combination of recycled and new materials. Recycled materials will be managed safely and reserved for a reasonable amount of time prior to student handling. We always can use the following items which can be dropped into the Maker donation bin in the lobby.
Empty paper towel/toilet paper rolls
Scrapbook & Wrapping paper
Plastic pint cartons (i.e. strawberry baskets)
Popsicle sticks
Paper clips
Rubber bands
Straws
String (yarn, ribbon, etc.)
Wipes
AND Scotch tape (we have dispensers, so rolls are appreciated)
Volunteers:
We could use a few volunteers to help prepare materials. This can be done at home or on campus (for approved campus volunteers) at your leisure. Tasks are generally simple like cutting, measuring, tracing, etc. All materials (including tools to complete a task such as rulers, hole punch, scissors, etc.) are provided for volunteers and can be left at the front office for pick up and delivery. Please contact Mrs. Turner at mstephanturner@conejousd.org if you are interested in helping.
