Polar Express- December 14th

Choo choo, all aboard the Polar Express!

On December 14th HMS will watch The Polar Express.


National Junior Honor Society will be selling pajama stickers at all 3 lunches from Monday, December 10th through Thursday, December 13th. For just $3, you can wear your pajamas to school on Friday the 14th. But please note, no house slippers are permitted.


Be sure to buy a sticker so you can wear your pajamas, it’s only $3!

Extracurricular Activities: Becca loves to dance! Becca loves being in Mrs. Belt’s class and spending times with others.


Rebecca is always cheerful and ready to work when class starts. She is kind to others and loves making her classmates laugh. Dancing is her passion and Becca never misses an opportunity to lift others spirits by busting a move! We are so proud of Becca. Extracurricular activities: Malcom plays 7th grade Football on the Husky A Team. He plays Club Soccer outside of school. Malcom is enjoying his Math and Science classes at Hughes. He loves to learn new things and strives to always do his best.


Malcom is always eager to learn, and very respectful with his teachers and peers. He has shown great growth in just a few months. Hughes is lucky to have such a great role model of a student. He makes me very proud! –Miriam Serna

HMS Bobby Bragan Scholarship Finalists

Congratulations to our two HMS Bobby Bragan Scholarship Finalists Ashlynn Adams and Marnette Andrade! Both will compete for a college scholarship worth $2500 to attend any school in Texas when they graduate. Winners will be announced in March. Awesome job!

HMS Spelling Bee- December 5th

The HMS Spelling Bee will be held Wednesday, December 5 at 9:00 am in the cafeteria. A sign-up sheet and study list is located in Room D112, Mrs. Hughes' room. Parents are welcome to attend!

Congrats to our 7th grade & 8th grade B teams on an awesome job in this weekend's tournament! Our 7th Grade B Team took won 3rd place and 8th Grade B team placed 2nd in the Summer Creek Middle School Tournament.
