Fourteen

Fourteen
Deep in the woods
I found a a tree twisted like licorice
A ring lay beside it
Shining in the light. I was fourteen.
I gazed over the beauty,
The circle shaped jewel
It fit perfectly on my finger
Like it belonged there. I was fourteen.
As I walked I admired,
Imagining it to unlock
Secret worlds and becoming a portal
To anything I wanted. I was fourteen.
I just kept starring at it
Looking over the unique design
Wondering how anybody
would leave such a beautiful ring
And who the ring belonged to?
I didn't want to find out.
Ahh,Fourteen
