Gentle Reminders

WCGC Bottles of Change Drive Ends Soon!

Students have until Friday, October 22 to turn in their baby bottles full of change which will be given to the Women's Centers of Greater Chicagoland. The money will help to provide pregnancy counseling, material goods assistance, and medical/social service referrals for expecting mothers. Please have your child bring their bottle to the main office before or after school when it is filled.

Weather Changes and School Dress Code

With the weather getting cooler and more wet, it is important that our students come to school appropriately dressed each day. Parents should know that unless there are rain showers or the temperature dips below 28 degrees, students will be going outdoors for their recess after lunch. Students need to dress in layers for school and wear attire that is in line with our school dress code. Please note that hooded sweatshirts are not to be worn on school Mass/prayer service days.

The following items are approved cold-weather items while inside the school building:

  • V-neck Pullover Sweater
  • V-neck Pullover Vest
  • V-neck Cardigan Sweater
  • Long-sleeved Dress Shirt
  • Long-sleeved Polo Shirt
  • Traditional Sweatshirt (Physical Education)
  • Spirit Wear Sale Items (worn over traditional uniform)

Spirit Wear Sale

The online spirit wear store is now open, but it will close on Monday, October 18. Please click on this link to see your options for showing your St. Stan's Wildcat pride! Please note that as the weather turns colder, only approved St. Stan's apparel will be allowed to be worn in addition to the normal school uniform while indoors.

We need families to volunteer to run "Trunk-or-Treat" at the Halloween party. We are asking that those who participate donate their candy for the event. Please remember that all candy should be nut-free. We need help setting up beginning at 5pm and Trunk-or-Treat will begin at 7pm.

Caught Being a Leader(board)

We had a large number of students who were "caught" being a leader, but the following students especially exhibited great leadership skills this past week at St. Stan's:

  • Brittany Aldana
  • Christine Cathey
  • Lilly Harris
  • Mia Olejarz
  • Melanie Hill
  • Abby Reyes
  • Abhay Agrawal

Upcoming Events & Important Dates

St. Stan's Family Mass - October 24

We will be having another Family Mass on Sunday, October 24 at 10am. This will be a "Blue Mass" to honor all those who serve as first responders. Students who attend with their families will receive a free dress down day.

Red Ribbon Week - October 25 through October 29

We will be having a spirit week to encourage students to make good choices and remain drug free throughout their lives. Details will be coming as to the specific theme days, but students can begin gathering red, camouflage/safari, future career, and "wacky-tacky" clothing. The week will culminate with our annual Halloween party on Friday, October 29.

Annual Halloween Party - October 29

Come celebrate Halloween with family and classmates as our annual Halloween party returns! The event will be held outdoors in front of the school and in the school parking lot. Come for games, food, fellowship, and trunk-or-treat!
