6th Grade Parents Middle School Orientation
On Tuesday, February 19th, at 7:00 PM, each of our Middle Schools will be hosting an orientation for sixth grade parents. Everything that you need to know to prepare your sixth grader for middle school will be covered. Please be sure to attend the orientation at your child's middle school. Lenape will be hosting this event in the auditorium. We will also be selling our Lenape wear.
Lenape will have curriculum tables set up starting at 6:30 PM for a question and answer time prior to the 7:00 program. Hope you can join us at 6:30.
Winter Dance
Lenape is excited to announce our 2019 Winter Dance! Unlike in the past, this dance is on Thursday night from 7:00 - 9:00 PM in the school cafeteria. This was voted on by the student body because Friday nights in the winter are Snow Sports Club nights, so many students would not be able to attend a dance on Friday.
As usual, there will be a DJ at the dance, but this year there will also be a digital photo booth! This will allow students to take pictures with their friends, and the pictures will be sent directly to their phones.
The dance will cost $8.00 sold at school and $10.00 at the door the night of the dance. Tickets will be sold during lunches, before and after school. The dance will end promptly at 9:00 pm, so students should be picked up in a timely manner.
We are so excited for this dance! I hope your child is looking forward to the dance!
Donations for Winter Dance
Lenape Middle School is looking for donations for their upcoming Winter Dance! This dance is for all students in our school, grades 7-9. Lenape Student Council is using this event as a fundraiser in order to raise money to include future dances and other special events we may run for the school such as movie nights, a March Madness tournament, and writing contest. The funds also go to improving the school in ways voted on by the students, including new artwork, flexible seating, independent reading books, and more. Past funds have also gone to major school projects such as the outdoor classroom created in one of our courtyards that can be used by teachers and students.
We are specifically looking for parents to donate baked goods and/or cases of water. For this dance, we will not be charging students for food or water, so we are hoping to offer a nice array of items. If you are interested in donating baked cookies, brownies, Rice Krispy treats, or other goods, please email Ms. Thomas at STThomas@cbsd.org. We could use multiples of each kind of treat. If someone is able to bake a gluten-free item, that would be greatly appreciated!
We are also looking for other types of donations: products and gift cards that we can offer as prizes for our raffle at the dance. We are looking to put together different prize baskets, as well as offer gift cards to local stores and shops in the Doylestown area. We are looking for gift cards in the $15- $25 range.
If you are interested in donating food, water, a gift card, or a product, or if you have any questions, please contact Ms. Stephanie Thomas at STThomas@cbsd.org. Ms. Thomas is a 9th grade English teacher at Lenape, and she also serves as the Student Council Advisor.
Dance treats can be dropped off in the main office the day of the dance, Thursday, February 7th and other donations by Tuesday, the 5th.
