Reopening Plan Update
On Monday, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that Santa Clara County and much of the state moved back to the purple tier, the most restrictive tier in the CA Blueprint. With case numbers rising in the county, USD will pause the reopening timeline until the county enters the Red tier. Oster will continue to plan and prepare to move to stage three and beyond of USD’s reopening plan and use this time to refine schedules and safety procedures at our site.
I will wait to send out a survey asking families to commit to an instructional pathway. This will allow families the time necessary to make the best decision for their children. As soon as there is more information about our campus reopening plans, I will share that with you.
During Monday's board meeting, Superintendent Coleman presented an update on the Reopening of Schools highlighting survey and stakeholder input. Associate Superintendent Andrew Schwab outlined considerations in developing hybrid schedules and shared the proposed elementary and middle school in-person hybrid schedules for stages 3-5. Schedules can be viewed here.
We look forward to seeing an improvement in Santa Clara County to get our students back on campus.
Principal's Challenge for November
For this month's principal's challenge, the theme is around gratitude. Students and families can create a poster of all the people and things they are grateful for using pictures and/or words. Students are welcome to use a variety of materials to decorate their posters. They can also cut out photos and words from magazines and glue them on. If they already made a poster, students can make a second poster, including more things from nature or places they like to visit or special people in their community. Please upload gratitude posters by 11/30/2020. Upload photos here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/BRkoBHLMdjrs71jk7
