Welcome to 2021!
Elginburg & District Public School
Virtual Learning January 4-8
Hello Eagle Families!
We are sending this email in preparation for our return to school tomorrow and the transition to virtual learning from Monday, January 4th to Friday, January 8th.
We look forward to our planned return to in-class instruction on January 11th and we will continue to share any further communications from the Limestone DSB and Ministry of Education as they are available.
Tomorrow, January 4th all families will receive an email or telephone call from their child's teacher outlining how to access their Google Classroom for virtual learning. The priority for this first day will be to ensure that all students/families are able to connect and access this platform. Our Junior and Intermediate students have been using the online platform all year and should be able to get online with no problems. Our younger students may need some coaching from parents and teachers!
I would encourage families to ensure that your child's login/password is working for you to access the Limestone network. You must log in on your child's Limestone account not your own personal account. If you are having any difficulties, please email email@example.com and a member of our staff will reach out to assist you.
If you do not have access to technology within your home, we are able to provide a Chromebook/iPad for your use during virtual learning. Technology will be allocated first to families who do not have a computer to enable their child to access learning during the extended school closure.
Your child's teacher will contact you tomorrow to confirm whether you need a device. Parents/guardians are encouraged to visit the school on Monday, January 4th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm at the front door, to pick up a device.
Wishing everyone a safe and positive end to the winter break. Please don't hesitate to contact the school if you are struggling this week.
Your Education Team,
Martha Duncan and the Elginburg Staff
