December News
What's happening at HGECC?
Welcome to HGECC!
Dear HGECC families,
Wow, have we had some ups and downs with our weather. I don't know whether to wear my sandals or my warm boots! We have been very lucky to have some beautiful days to get our kids outside to play. That outside air is so important for us all!
We are busy getting ready for our annual Winter Fest event on December 17th here at HGECC. It is always so much fun to see everyone that night. There will be crafts, activities, stories, games, a special visitor, and more! Flyers will be coming home about it next week. Please be sure to check your child's backpack and let us know if you can come.
We hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving break and were able to spend some time relaxing and enjoying family. We were so glad to see your students back here on Monday and they were happy to be back!
If your child has not already told you, we also have a little elf, "Elfie", that is making her way around our school looking for acts of kindness throughout the day. Ask your child where they saw her each day and what they did to be kind to someone else.
Our staff is looking forward to these next few weeks of school before our winter break, and all of the learning that is yet to come. There are always so many wonderful books to be read, vocabulary to be introduced, and things to experience in the winter time.
Don't forget-we are hosting a Conscious Discipline parent training each week from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in our library. A separate email came out with information about that. We have also been able to add childcare during those trainings- so please call us if you would like to attend the next training! We would love to have you!
Are you curious about what your little person does all day while they are here? Check out your child's classroom website for pictures, resources, and updates on what is happening! We are always adding new information to our building page and teacher pages. Go to https://hgecc.grandviewc4.net, click on "about us", then go to "teachers and staff". Find your teacher's name and click on their website.
Remember-if you ever have any questions or ideas you would like to share with me, please give me a call!
Let's have a beautiful December

Conscious Discipline Focus at Home:
Be Present
In the midst of modern life and the demands of the corporate world, we often forget that psychological safety and connection are essential when it comes to building strong relationships and healthy brains, so our children may develop into self-confident individuals who trust their environment and have the self-regulation skills needed to succeed.

Visit our Success By Six Resource Center!
I don't know if you know this-but we have an amazing SB-6 center located in our building! What is this you ask? It's like a library full of toys, games, books, and resources! You can bring your child for playgroups, story times, and check out fun toys to take home with you--just like checking books out from the library!
We are open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Stop by and check something out!
