Every day at Fuller, our CORE Values, or guiding principles, drive our school wide culture. These core values are taught and then reinforced daily with every student. We expect all students to demonstrate Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience towards everyone and in every situation.
Students should not be bringing cell phones or air pods/earbuds to school. If they do bring a cell phone or air pods/earbuds to school, they must stay in their backpack or locker. If they are used by your child during the school day, they will be held in the office until the end of the day (they will be able to collect them as they are leaving the building for the day).
If you need to contact your child, please call the main office (508) 620-4956. If your child needs to contact you, they may come to the main office to text or call you from there.
This policy is for the safety of all of our students and to preserve the learning environment of our school.

The school day begins promptly at 8:08 every morning; attendance is taken in Homeroom.
Students must not arrive to school before 7:55; school doors open at 7:55.
Breakfast is served from 7:55-8:10.
The school day ends at 2:25.
PTO Fundraiser - January 27th
This week all Emergent Bilingual students at Fuller will be taking their ACCESS assessment. This test is extremely important for our Emergent Bilingual students; it allows us to better understand the progress they are making in English language acquisition by demonstrating their English skills through Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking.
If your child is taking this assessment this week, please encourage them to:
- come to school each day
- get plenty of sleep each night
- eat breakfast before school or when they arrive at school (breakfast is served every morning in our cafeteria)
- take their time and to do their best work on their assessment
Congratulations to Jesily Esponilla, an eighth grader here at Fuller Middle School, who was recently selected as one of Framingham’s 2023 Project 351 Ambassadors. Project 351 is a non-profit organization that empowers a youth-led movement for change powered by an eighth grade student representing every city and town in Massachusetts. Jesily was selected for her inspiring ethic of service and values of kindness, compassion, humility, and gratitude. Ms. Kamiyama, school librarian and game club co-coordinator, describes Jesily as, "the first to recognize a need and offer to help others. She does so in a way that is inclusive and makes her peers feel a part of not just her after school game club, but our school community. Jesily stands out for her ability to observe, understand, and act."
On January 14th, Esponilla united with more than 425 Ambassadors and Alumni mentors for Project 351’s 13th annual Launch and Service Day in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. & Coretta Scott King. Launch Day kicks-off 12 months of leadership development through unifying service, Alumni mentorship, and enrichment through Project 351’s Service Leadership Academy.

Pennies for Pages - Our Students Make a Difference
8th Grade Fundraising Raffle - Help Needed!
The 8th Grade End-of-Year Events Fundraising Committee is bringing back the popular 8th Grade Calendar Raffle, and we need your help, please!
Ideally, we are looking to acquire items* worth at least $25 (HOWEVER, we'll take **anything** that you are willing to donate.) Each item (or combination of items) will be raffled off on every consecutive day for four weeks between April and May.
*Please note: Items may be in the form of cash, gift cards, something actually purchased, something handcrafted or created like gift baskets, something donated directly from vendors*, or even something re-gifted!
*If you need to provide a letter to a vendor for tax purposes, please contact Carol Armstrong at carmstrong@framingham.k12.ma.us and she will send you a copy.
The item commitments for the four-week calendar should be logged here no later than Friday, February 10, but the raffle items would not need to be delivered to the school until Friday, April 3 (sooner, if possible). These items should be labeled "calendar raffle" and given directly to Ms. Slason in the main office.

Who to Contact if You Need Assistance
Ski Club starts on Friday, January 6th.
Skiers,
Please bring your equipment to the Main Office Conference Room before the going to your morning homeroom.
In the afternoon, you will be dismissed along with "Parent Pick Up" students. You will need to report to the main office to pick up your equipment and then go to the West -side parking lot (Door #7) with your group to get your bus to the mountain.
Don't forget to order your school pictures
If your child(ren) rides a school bus to or from school, please remind them that riding the bus to school is a privilege and that it is essential for all students to behave in safely and courteously while on the bus.
Our bus drivers' main goal is to transport our students to and from school safely. If students are not being safe while on the bus or when they are entering or leaving the bus, they are jeopardizing everyone's safety and the school will be notified. If it is found that the student did violate the expectations, there will be consequences.
As a school, we will be reminding students through a PBIS lesson of our expectations when riding a bus. I would appreciate if families and caregivers could go over these expectations as well.
When riding a school bus,:
- the Bus Driver is the adult in charge and must be treated with respect and listened to.
- students must remain seated at all times when the bus is in motion.
- students must not scream, yell, or play loud music when riding the bus.
- students' hands and head must remain inside the bus (no hanging out of windows).
- students must not throw anything out of the windows.
- students must not yell at passing cars or pedestrians.
- students must enter the bus from the bus stop in an orderly and safe manner. Students should not walk into traffic or approach the bus before it stops and the doors open.

School Drop Off/Pick Up and Map
For the safety of our students, do not pass other cars when using the parent drop off/pick up line.
The construction team has been hard at work this summer preparing Fuller Middle School for our new school year. There have been major changes made to our outside areas. Fuller now has two turf fields, a basketball court, and a newly paved parking lot (with a new entrance/exit). Please use the map below to see where student drop off/pickup is located. Please remember to only use the designated area when dropping off or picking up your child; this is for the safety of all of our students. Students should only cross Flagg Drive at the marked crosswalks.
If you will be dropping off or picking up your child, please follow the traffic pattern. For the safety of all students, vehicles are not allowed in the circle in front of the school from 7:30 - 8:15 and 2:00 - 3:00. This is to allow the buses to safely drop off and pick up students. Students will be dropped off and picked up in the large parking lot nearest to the fields. Staff members will be present to assist students.
6th grade and new students will receive their newly assigned Chromebooks on the first day of school through their homeroom teachers.
7th and 8th grade students who previously attended any Framingham Public School must bring their fully charged Chromebook to school on the first day. Once a Chromebook is assigned to a student, the Chromebook is their responsibility throughout secondary school (grades 6-12). Students are expected to be responsible for their Chromebook, to bring their Chromebook to school fully charged every day, and to bring their Chromebook to the school office if their Chromebook is not working properly (we will have it fixed and give a loaner to the student while it is being repaired).
We have a very limited supply of loaner Chromebooks, so these are only given to students whose Chromebook is being repaired. Middle School students are expected to be responsible for their Chromebooks and to be ready to learn at school every day.
Cell phones can be a major distraction for many of our students. Please speak to your child about making sure they keep their cell phone and earbuds/AirPods in their locker or backpack.
- If a student has their cell phone out or have earbuds/AirPods in during the school day, we will hold the cell phone in the office until the end of the school day.
- If a student continues to have their cell phone taken away, we will require a parent or guardian to pick up the cell phone from the school. The school will notify home.
Please help us keep your child focused on learning by either keeping their cell phone at home or talking to them about putting away their cell phone and earbuds/AirPods during the school day*.

*Unless a student is using a cell phone for medical reasons.
Please Review with Your Child
1. Since the weather will still be warm when we return to school, we are asking that all students come to school dressed in school appropriate clothing. Fuller is air conditioned, so there should be no reason for students to come to school in beach wear. This includes sunglasses. We are asking for these items to stay at home.
Students cannot wear clothing representing alcohol, tobacco products, drugs, or pornography. We understand that there are popular stores selling these items of clothing, but we will need to ask students to change or to turn the item of clothing inside-out if it is worn to school.
2. The following items are not allowed during school hours at school without permission:
Cell phones, Airpods, and smart watches are not allowed during school hours. If students bring these items to school, they will need to be put away in lockers or backpacks before entering the school.
Electronic games or devices, laser pens or pointers, cameras, video cameras. (Taking pictures or videos of students and staff is not permitted in school or on buses.)
Pokemon cards or other trading cards
Skateboards/sneakers with built-in wheels.
3. Bringing the following items could result in a suspension or expulsion, and in some cases will be reported to the police and/or fire department.
Squirt guns, water guns, air guns, cap guns, etc. - anything that looks like a gun is not allowed in school.
Lighters, matches or lighting devices, alcohol, illegal drugs, counterfeit drugs, drug paraphernalia, tobacco (chewing or smoking, such as cigarettes and vaping devices).
Weapons, knives (including pocket or utility knives), fireworks, stink bombs.
Other devices that may create a disruption or potentially be a safety risk (i.e. shock delivering devices).
Free breakfast and lunch is available for all students this year. Students will use the ID card when going through the cafeteria line. Students will be expected to wear their ID cards on their lanyard during the school day. We are expecting student IDs to arrive this week.

We love when families and caregivers become involved at Fuller MS. It takes everyone working together to support all of our students.
