Wolverines News

We Need Your Help

Our School Resource Officer, Officer Gurecki, has asked us to let our families know that the Tim Hortons on Schoenherr has made several complaints about loitering, vandalism, destruction of property and disrespectful students at their place of business after school. While we understand that parents may work and can't pick their child up at our dismissal time, Tim Hortons is a place of business and should not be used as a gathering place for our middle school students. Officer Gurecki has asked that parents find an alternative option. The Warren Police Department will be making visits to Tim Hortons after our dismissal time. Please speak with your student about making responsible decisions within our community. Thank you.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Thank you to all the families that attended our Spring Parent Teacher conferences. If you could not attend your student's progress report is being mailed home.

7th grade Vision Screening

All 7th graders will participate in the state mandated vision screening through the Macomb County Health Department on Tuesday, March 10. Testing takes place in our building and should be completed by 11:00 am. Students who wear glasses or contacts should be sure to wear them.

Social Media Resources

Middle School is an exciting time for our students. Young adolescents begin pulling away from their parents and are seeking peer acceptance and attention. Social media networks and apps have made it easier for students to connect with others. But with the ability to connect there also comes the ability to make poor choices and use social media to demean others and make poor decisions. Parents of middle school students need to be extra vigilant and monitor their child's online activity to help them understand the power of words. We don't want our children to become part of a network that does harm to others. Please see some resources below that the Michigan Attorney General's Office has published to help parents navigate the variety of social networks.
