Principal's Message
Dear VHS Families,
Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year! It is with great pride and excitement that I introduce myself to you as the Principal of Vineland High School. I am honored to continue to lead a school with such a rich tradition and dynamic educational opportunities!
I hope your summer is going well and you are enjoying the time to rest and relax. As a reminder, school begins on Thursday, September 5, 2019. Our school hours for students are from 7:33 am - 2:10pm. Student attendance is extremely important to their educational success, therefore, it is imperative your child attends school every day and reports to homeroom on time.
Vineland School District has a mandatory uniform regulation. The acceptable standards of dress are outlined below. If you have any questions regarding the uniform regulation or are in need of uniform assistance, feel free to contact the school.
Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established by VHS by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. We will focus on character education initiatives, excellence in instruction, the use of data to drive instruction, and provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase all of the students' achievement.
All of us at Vineland High School are eager and excited to begin what promises to be the best year ever. This year is going to be amazing as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections.
As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students and parents are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.
I look forward to working with you as a team to help each student at Vineland High School meet their goals and have a successful school year!
Best Wishes,
Suzette DeMarchi
Principal

School Attendance
Be on time each day!! Attendance Matters!!
Punctuality and attendance are important habits for students to develop and maintain. In accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, Vineland High School requires students to attend school regularly to ensure continuity of instruction and classroom participation.
NJ State Law requires that Vineland High School documents all days when a student is absent and present from school. As such, the school will monitor your child’s attendance and timely arrival throughout the year. Part of this monitoring includes attendance letters to alert parents of these absences. Parents are also encouraged to monitor their child’s attendance through the Genesis Parent Portal. *NOTE: Students who have missed 18 or more days of school, excused or unexcused, will be labeled as “chronically absent” by the State of New Jersey.*
We ask you to respect the importance of the school day by ensuring your student’s daily attendance and timely arrival. Expectations are outlined in the Attendance Letter.
Outside Student Lunches
Social Media and Consequences
We take threats, potential threats, and acts of aggression (fighting, verbal disputes, etc.) very seriously and will NOT tolerate any behavior that harms the safety and welfare of our students. It only takes one regrettable post and/or comment for your child to lose a lot of privileges at VHS. It is our hope that through the efforts of home and school, that our students will use social media in a safe and respectful manner. I strongly encourage you to have a conversation with your son or daughter and read the enclosed Social Media Letter.

Driving To School
Driving to school is a privilege! Only seniors are permitted to drive to school. However, based on availability, please note that juniors will be allowed to park on the school premises starting with the third marking period. An announcement will be made in September informing seniors of the procedures to enable them to park on the premises. Students will be required to provide a copy of their license, registration and proof of insurance in order to park on school grounds. Driving violations will result in the loss of parking privileges at the discretion of security and administration. At the end of each day, students will NOT be permitted to leave their parking stall until all the buses have left school grounds. Students who leave school grounds prior to the buses leaving will lose their driving privileges.
