What is the McKinney Vento Program? The McKinney-Vento Education for Homeless Children and Youth Program is designed to address the problems that homeless children and youth have faced in enrolling, attending, and succeeding in school. Under this program, state educational agencies must ensure that each homeless child and youth has equal access to the same free, appropriate public education, including a public preschool education, as other children and youth.

Mandatory: Reporting Child Abuse Training
The Education Code in Florida Statute Section 1012.98(12) requires teachers in grades K-12 to participate in the Department of Children and Families (DCF) provided education training to identify and report child abuse and neglects. The website for the webinar is
http://www3.fl-dcf.org/RCAAN/. The District requires all new employees, and any employees who have not yet seen this video, to view this DCF webinar by November 6, 2015. Schools and departments are to keep track to ensure that their new employees have viewed the webinar.
