In the Classroom

It's going to be another fabulous week in first grade! We're celebrating families this week! Every family is unique and special and we are honoring that with books, discussions, and activities. Speaking of family, next Thursday is Grandparent's Day! We would love for you to join us from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

Each month your child will bring home a Scholastic Book Club order. Our online code is GLLLB. This is a great place to buy books for your home library! Every time you order, our class earns books to read. Scholastic books are a great price and a great way to collect books on your child's level. In first grade we strive to end the school year at a level J. Most students are reading a level c, d, or e at this time of the year. By reading at least 20 minutes independently at school and 15-20 minutes at home each day, your child will grow leaps and bounds this year!
