A Note from the Principal

November is my favorite month of the year! The theme for November is thankfulness. It’s a time when everyone hits the pause button in their busy lives and reflects on what it means to be thankful. I am thankful for so much! I am thankful every day to come to our school. I am thankful for the privilege to work with caring, hardworking teachers and staff. I am thankful for our kind students and supportive parents. Be thankful for the time with family and friends this holiday. Happy Thanksgiving!

Smile and Be Kind!

Safety First

Here are a few reminders to keep the parent drop off line moving smoothly and safely:

  • Please wait in line. We ask that you not pull around the car line and wait in front of the school.
  • Pull all the way to the end of the sidewalk.
  • Remain in your vehicle.
  • Children should be ready to get out once the car has come to a complete stop.
  • Students should be dropped off in the line, not in the parking lot.
  • Students should not walk unaccompanied through the parking lot.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Attendance-Tardy to School

If your child is arriving late to school, you must bring your child in to the office to sign him/her in. Our school day begins at 7:55 and once the bell rings, your child is tardy to school. Teachers begin instruction at 7:55 and students arriving tardy not only interrupts the learning, but your child is missing important learning time. The beginning of the day is the time teachers use to set the tone for the day and helps students get organized.

Change for Recess- November 5-9

Help raise money for a new playground! Your child's grade level has an opportunity to earn a No Uniform Day on November 20 by bringing in the most change. Each grade level will have a jug on the stage to collect change. Bring in any amount and deposit it into the jug. The grade level with the most amount collected will earn the no uniform day.

Caught Reading- Fostering a Love of Reading

Does your child love to read? Or, is your child reluctant to read any more than necessary? To encourage reading for pleasure, we are asking you to snap a picture of your child while he or she is reading outside of school. It could be at home, at a park, or anywhere. “Catch” your child reading, take a picture, and email it to Mrs. Campbell at Nicolecc@leeschools.net. Please also include your child’s name, grade, and class. Your child’s picture will be featured on our “Caught Reading” display board at the entrance of our school. We appreciate your encouragement to foster a life-long love of reading!
