Connections Lunch Rotation (5/2)

Randolph, Ledford, Strickland, Goodman

Late Bus Supervision (Week of 5/2) (If applicable)

Mallet, A Sykes, Akins, Reed, Pelletier, Piercy (Mallet Coordinates)

Eagles' Odds, Ends, and Reminders

  • Final Advisement Dates: No Advisement the rest of April (5/2 - small groups; 5/9 - Club Advisement; 5/16 - Homeroom Advisement)
  • Electronic Announcements: Please bookmark this link and type in your announcements before the morning or afternoon announcements. We will read them straight from the form each day.
  • Wednesday Meetings: Please remember to reserve Wednesdays for possible staff/grade level meetings.
  • Computer Lab Key: If you are going to be in the computer lab on the main hallway, please pick up a key from Krissy in the front office before you begin your day and return it when you leave the computer lab. Make sure to lock it before you leave. If we have a Code Yellow or Code Red which would require you to lock down the room, you will have a way to make sure the class is secure. Let Mrs. Johnson know if you have questions.
  • Code Yellow/Red Practice: Please make sure to consistently practice Code Drills with students (including, red, yellow, blue, fire, tornado). Our goal is to review and practice with students monthly between drills.
  • Late Bus Supervision: If you are responsible for coordinating late bus supervision during your assigned week, please plan ahead and make sure everyone on your supervision team knows the day he/she is responsible for and choose a location for students. Most days we will not need anyone for a late bus, but we do have occasional times when there is no driver and students are on a second load. The front office will call the coordinator as soon as the school is contacted about the late bus, and will alert the leader. Please let Johanna or Heather know where the students should report. Teachers can tag team or take individual days. Again, most days it's not needed.

End of Year Reminders for Students

  • Students should bring a self-addressed, stamped envelope to their homeroom teacher if they'd like their child's final report card mailed home. Reports cards not mailed may be picked up in our front office beginning summer office hours on June 3rd. (HR teachers should keep these in a folder as they're turned in.)
  • Make sure to pay all outstanding lunch account balances.
  • Return all library books and text books (and pay any fines if applicable).
  • Pick up any medication left in our school's clinic. Any medication left after May 27th will be destroyed.
  • If a student is missing an item, please make sure he/she checks the school's lost and found before the last day of school. Items will be donated to charity after June 3rd.
  • Any lost or collected valuables, including electronics, are locked in the school's vault and should be picked up by May 27th.

PBIS Information

Follow the PBIS link below for a comprehensive page of Positive Behavior Support information including things you'll need to review before our school's walk-through. The visiting team had to cancel, so we are uncertain of which day they will come to Madras. Please continue to review the expectations with your students along with the questions.

Remember Our Goal: Connect with Five Students Daily

Connect with 5 students (include staff too) who add value by being in your life. Let them know how they make a positive difference in this world. Get to know their stories. Any random act of kindness goes a long way and makes an immediate impact. Kindness is contagious. By modeling this daily, we will begin to see a culture shift with our students. Exiting year to be an EAGLE. Together we're going to do great things!

“Wherever there is a human in need, there is an opportunity for kindness and to make a difference.”

—Kevin Heath (CEO More4kids)
