At the time twenty percent of Americans were unemployed. Many men left their families to go in search of job opportunities. A lot of businesses closed due to the lack of workforce; which they could not pay.

The Dust Bowl
During the great depression many people relied on the government to give them food and money. Many people working on the farm had a lock of water. The air was very dry and hot. Because of this lack of water, the dust bowl began. The dust bowl killed many farmers crops resulting in even more money loss.
