Conrady Parent Update
April 27, 2020
Heading Into May
First off, we at Conrady would like to thank all of the parents and guardians who have continued to do their best in extremely trying conditions. In addition to being educators and supporters of our district, many of us here are parents as well. We understand how difficult it is to be a provider and caretaker, let alone Remote Learning supervisor, and we applaud the efforts of those who have continued to monitor their student's progress.
That said, there is still a month of school that remains and our teachers and staff have been working diligently to ensure student learning continues. This is not the time to lose sight of academic goals and responsibilities. It is important for parents and students to understand that WORK IS EXPECTED. Teachers are keeping track of assignments and lack of effort and follow-through may affect class placement in the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.
As you know, Governor JB Pritzker’s recent decision to keep Remote Learning in place for the remainder of the school year will help keep Illinois residents safe and healthy, but naturally brings up many questions for students and their families.
Many of those questions and answers are being formulated right now. Everything from locker cleanouts, Chromebook issues, and 8th Grade graduation concerns will be resolved in the coming days and we will make sure all concerns are communicated as quickly as we can. Stay safe, and remember we are all working together to create the best possible outcomes.

Reminder : Fourth Quarter Grade Changes:
Student participation is expected and assignments will be graded using a Meets/Incomplete system. Teachers will clearly communicate which assignments will be graded. An incomplete grade can be assigned for two reasons. First, a student that does not complete an assignment will be given an incomplete. Second, a student that submits an assignment that does not meet the learning expectations will receive an incomplete with feedback and an opportunity to redo and resubmit the assignment. Upon our return to school, a remediation period will occur so students have an opportunity to finish any assignments that were not completed during Remote Learning.
Please remember to email your child’s teacher if you need assistance. Emails received between 8:30 and 2 p.m. will be answered on the same day. Emails received after 2 p.m. will be answered the following day.
Formal attendance will not be taken during this time; however, student participation and completion of work is expected. Teachers and administrators will be monitoring work completion during the Remote Learning days. If your child is having difficulty completing his or her Remote Learning assignments, please contact your child’s school.
