Cool Cat News
Campus Brief
Cool Cats,
Easter Break! We made it! I hope you are not sitting in front of your computer right now. I hope you won't see this newsletter until Tuesday morning! Enjoy this wonderful long weekend!
Shout out to 2nd grade! During your reading lessons this week, it was wonderful to see your students' ability to justify their answers with evidence from the text. There was great discussion and engagement in every classroom! Great job!
As you know we are beginning our EOY descent to summer! There are so many things that must happen between now and the end of the year. With the hire of new teachers we must make adjustments and some room changes. Next week, we will get some information on technology questions and we will publish new room assignments soon. Please be prepared there may be substantial movement depending on the answers we get from technology. As we make decisions, our focuses are on technology needs and adjustments, storage, and locker spaces for students.
We are also finalizing next year's master schedule and Erin is helping us finalize our 2019-2020 calendar. Some of you have started asking about student scheduling and student/teacher pods for next year. We are currently gathering the info to start that process. If you are a special area teacher, please plan to meet with us to discuss your 2019-20 case loads. We will be contacting you next week to set up a meeting.
We will discuss EOY needs and decisions in our next team leader meeting and staff meetings.
The Rotary Club Book Giveaway is scheduled for Friday, May 3rd. Every Cool Cat will receive a book and a backpack. Mrs. Tami is planning to keep the schedule as close to last year's as possible. She will be sending out the details soon.
We are adjusting the way we lock up the office in the afternoons. We are going to have the last person to leave lock up the office, Angela and I are usually here until at least 4:30 often beyond that time. We want to make sure that you know we are available to you and the office is accessible to you while we work after school.
Quote of the Week;
" A Child must know that he or she is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn't been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another like him or her."
~Pablo Casals
What a profound statement....every child has value as a one of a kind, unique and special creation. Every child has talents and the ability to leave a mark on the world in some way, even if it's sometimes hidden by poverty and learning challenges and unproductive behaviors. What a gift!
WHY is it so easy to become bombarded with and focused on the negative, the imperfections, the differences, the disappointment, the difficulties, the failures, the pressure, the punishment; the dislike and distrust...and every other negative feeling... Sometimes it takes stepping back and committing to SELF to find that something positive, remembering the miracle that lies within each little person we are blessed to impact! We can make all the difference for a child! AND that's why we do what we do! #hartmanpride #hartmanlove
Hope you are enjoying your weekend! Happy Easter!
