Happy Holidays!
We would like to wish you and your family Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. We look forward to continuing to support you and your districts by providing resources to ensure a quality virtual learning experience for our Indiana students so please feel free to reach out if there is anything we can do for you.

You will also find valuable information about IU Turnkey Courses, digital learning resources, a new Google Form to receive PGP points from recorded webinars and Twitter Chats, December's Innovative Educator, an opportunity to nominate an innovative educator, and much more!
Ongoing Professional Learning - One of ISTE's 14 Essential Conditions
To support a systemwide initiative, all educators and staff need professional learning plans that:
- Meet each individual’s needs with relevant training
- Are implemented regularly
- Are continually updated to reflect current trends and technologies
See below for many professional learning opportunities because ongoing professional learning imbues educators with the confidence they need to use technology successfully.
National Standards for Quality Releases Online Teaching Reflection and Professional Development Tool for Teachers
NSQ recently launched their Online Teaching Reflection and Professional Development portal powered by 2gnoMe. This portal "unpacks" the standards using a teacher's own reflections on their practice to match high-quality and aligned learning resources to the teacher’s individual needs and strengths. This approach puts teachers on a path towards improving their practice as instructors, both in blended and online formats.
The development of the National Standards for Quality Online Teaching and the vetting of supporting learning resources is led by Quality Matters (QM) and the Virtual Learning Leadership Alliance (VLLA).

Continuous Learning Challenges - Winter Edition is Here!
New Continuous Learning Challenges are now available. Continuous Learning Challenges are weekly choice boards for grades K-12 specifically designed without technology in mind. The skill sets are connected to Michael Fullen’s Deep Learning Competencies and are great tasks for families to complete together.
Digital Learning Toolkit
The Office of Teaching and Learning has created a Digital Learning Toolkit to provide resources for educators to utilize as they seek to support and ensure a robust and highly-effective digital learning program. Check out the Digital Learning Toolkit for more professional learning opportunities.
New Courses Added!
IDOE has partnered with Indiana University to make available high school courses for Indiana educators to implement. This partnership, intended to lighten the load of Indiana educators, will roll out in three phases. We are currently in phase one, which offers course materials to educators for immediate use. These are full courses, aligned to Indiana standards, that can be adopted, adapted, or adjusted by Hoosier teachers to meet the needs of Indiana students. The courses can be implemented both synchronously and asynchronously, in a variety of models. Phase two will include a Course Design Academy, where courses will be revised and adapted to improve accessibility and supports for students and teachers. Phase three will continue to provide revised courses and professional development. Visit the turnkey courses website to find more information about this partnership and access these courses.

November's Nominated Innovative Educator - Missy Perry
In addition to teaching over thirty kindergarten students per day, Ms. Perry is always the first to volunteer to teach a new digital skill to staff. With the advent of virtual learning looming on the horizon this year, Lydia Middleton staff members decided to dedicate one day a week to learning how to use various digital resources. We call this Technology Tuesday. Ms. Perry has introduced three different topics on those professional development days. In addition, she is always open to assisting others. Outside of teaching her class and assisting with staff professional development, she serves as a mentor for English Language Arts.
