TEACHERS NEED HELP TOO
QUESTIONS
How would you suggest we, as a nation, provide consistent learning opportunities for teachers and ensure that they are not left behind in learning about new techniques and strategies? I would suggest that the teachers have a refresher course every 6 months to make sure they are still current in the lessons they are teaching. I would also suggest that they attend a conferences once a year to learn about new teaching strategies that can be implemented in their classrooms. They would be involved in role playing, learning new ideas and team building exercises.
Should all teachers across the country use certain practices? Yes If so, what would those be? They should all have a well rounded curriculum ,or lesson plan they should have knowledge of what their teaching, the ability to teach ideas and concepts to the students,offer motivation and respect.
Should there be a consistent standard for all teachers to meet, just as students must pass high stakes tests? yes If so, what would be the standard? All teachers should be able to pass each mastery skilled test as well as be able to incorporate the NETS.S standards in their teachings. They should all be willing to incorporate some form of the Twenty first century skills into their traditional teachings
Lastly, share your thoughts on how well teachers are being prepared to master the NETS-T standards in their classrooms.
I feel that the teachers coming out of college now have a better understanding of the NETS.T standards. They have been working to learn different styles and methods that add creativity to their lesson plan. The NETS.T standards call for a concise ways of teaching the students and I feel like the newer teacher grasps that concept. The standards below incorporate things that the teachers are taught.
