Back to School Night
On Thursday, September 3, St. Charles East/North intended to host our Back to School Night for the 2020-21 school year. As much as we would like to invite you into the building to meet our staff, the current situation warrants us to shift our plan to a virtual opportunity to meet your child’s teachers. Teachers will be recording video introductions for each of their classes to share with you about class expectations, information about the course, and how to get in contact with them for any questions or support for your child. All videos will be posted to our website on Friday, September 11. When the videos are posted, you will receive an email informing you they are available. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Senior Portraits & Yearbook Pictures
Any senior wanting to be included in the 2020-2021 yearbook must have their senior yearbook picture taken by Root Studios, the official yearbook photographer of St. Charles North High School. Even if you do not plan to purchase photos from Root Studios, seniors must commit to a complimentary sitting with them this fall. Please look out for information from Root Studios that includes an online sign up for an appointment. Sitting sessions are taking place at St. Charles North High School in September and October.
2019-2020 Yearbook Information
If you ordered a 2019-2020 Yearbook, they are available for pickup in the main office on weekdays from 7:30 am-3:00 pm. Please ensure you wear a mask to visit the building.
We have extra 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 Yearbooks available! If you did not purchase a yearbook for either of these two years, please contact Lindsay.Boynton@d303.org to arrange for purchase and pickup of your yearbook.
Welcome Back on behalf of the PTO!
To welcome the North Staff “physically back” the North students “in spirit” back to school, the PTO hung a staff banner inside the main entrance and a student banner on the football fence. We hope these good wishes bring a smile to the staff and students!
PTO Meeting
Join us on Tuesday, September 1, at 6:00 PM to find out what is currently happening with the PTO, Student Council, and at St. Charles North High School. Principal Christenson, Assistant Principal for Instructional Programs, and a North Counselor, will be available for a Question and Answer time.
We will meet outside the main entrance. Please bring a chair, and remember, a mask is required. Thank you, and we hope to see you at the meeting!

ECRA SEL Survey
August 2020
Dear Parent/Guardian,
St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 strives to provide all students with the best opportunity to succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally in school. As part of this commitment, District 303 is enhancing our Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) across the district for the 2020-2021 school year.
This year, students in grades 2-5 and students in 6-12 will be completing a universal screening tool to assess their academic, social, and emotional learning skills. The use of universal screening allows us to refine and strengthen our efforts to help all students achieve success by taking positive and preventative measures as early as possible. This also provides us with the opportunity to assist students who may need additional support with academic, social, and emotional learning.
One of the universal screening tools used by the District is the ECRA SEL Survey, which focuses on the following areas:
● Responsible Decision Making
● Self-Regulation
● Social/Relationships
The ECRA SEL Survey will be completed three times this school year during the weeks of August 31st through September 10, January 18 through January 29, and April 26 through May 7. If a screening shows that a student will benefit from additional skill development, parents will be contacted and will work in collaboration with school staff to problem-solve and determine the next steps.
Additional information about this screener and other assessments in District 303 may be found on our website at http://district.d303.org/assessment-accountability. Thank you for your support and assistance in ensuring each of our students has the opportunity to achieve academic and social-emotional success.
Please feel free to contact your building principal or me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
David Chiszar

Encuesta ECRA SEL
Atentamente,
David Chiszar
