Touring Texas
In our 5 day trip around Texas, we saw and went to many great attractions. The first one was in Galveston. We went to the Galveston Storm Memorial and learned about the hurricane tragedy that happened in 1900. We also went to the beaches in Galveston. While we were there, we saw tons of sea creatures such as crabs, dolphins, clams, and many more! For day 2, we went to Corpus Christi, and visited the Lexington Museum. This museum was filled with history about the USS Lexington, which was a ship that was 19 stories tall, and longer than 3 New York blocks! On the 3rd day, we went to San Antonio, to visit the Alamo. We learned about the war that went on there, and found it extremely interesting. Next, we went to Austin for day 4. We went to the Bat Bridges, where we got to see bats fly all over the place! We also went to the Balcones Fault, which I will mention later on. Lastly, we went to visit the Dallas Zoo, which, isn't that far away from our home town but, it was still really cool.
Highlight of the Trip
This 5 day trip was very interesting. I learned lots of new facts about the history of Texas, from the artsy sculpture of the Galveston Storm Memorial, to watching millions of bats fly right above our heads. We went to 5 places in Texas; Galveston, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Austin, and last but not least was Dallas. My favorite part of it all was seeing the Balcones Fault in Austin. There's nothing that I love more than having a beautiful landform right in front of my eyes! The fault was 300 feet tall and went all the way from the southwest part of the state near Del Rio to the north central region near Waco. It was an amazing sight and I'm pretty sure everyone in the group loved the experience.
