What’s happening on MLK Day? We have a half-day of school on Monday, 1/18, for the observance of MLK Day. Caitlyn Baskins, for her Gold Award in Girl Scouts, has planned a tremendous day of learning for the entire middle school. It will prove to be a remarkable experience for our students. The day will begin with an all-school assembly and then cycle through lessons in diversity lessons via math, science, language arts, social studies, and the arts curricula. School will dismiss at 11:45 am.

  1. Text alerts are available through Remind. TEXT @mms5678 to 81010
  2. Weekly classroom assignment charts are listed below, or you can also find them under the middle school's "Parents & Students" tab.

Volunteers may sign-up on our Google Doc--Click on the link below.

If you are unable to access the link (as phones sometimes have trouble), just send us an email with your name, your preferred 5/6 or 7/8 grade time slot, and the activity you would like to volunteer for, and we will enter the information for you.

Please feel free to share this email with any MMS parents who haven't registered for the PTSA distribution list and would like to help out at Fun Night.

Best wishes,

High School Orientation

Attention 8th Grade Families

The Manchester High School is holding an 8th Grade Scheduling Information Night on January 12th, 2015 at 6:30 PM. We formerly called this night "Freshmen Orientation." Freshmen elective teachers will review their classes with you, so your student is well-informed when he/she takes the student interest survey in late January.

All freshmen parents/guardians should plan to attend with their students. Tours will be available after the presentations.

Please email Dr. Kevin Mowrer with any questions:

The faculty and staff at MHS look forward to meeting you and your student.

Meet Cindy Karapas, 5th Grade Teacher

I graduated from Clinton High School. I attended Siena Heights my freshman year of college and completed by bachelor and master's degree at Eastern Michigan University. I have three children, of which my youngest is in his third year at Adrian College leaving my husband and I with an empty nest most of the year. I enjoy the energy the fifth grade students bring to the learning environment.
