We evolved from apes?!?
Darwin's theory of evolution by: Sydney Jakobson
Human evolution
Most of us believe that god just dropped us off on earth as evolved as we are , and humans just kept re-producing and multiplying. However that is not the case. According to Darwin's theory , we evolved from apes. The first " man" was called the hominid ( or great apes.) We evolved 4 more times until we became Homo sapiens . We evolved to are habitat , but we were pretty much done evolving.
These are the finches
Apparently according to Darwin , These finches evolved to be able to get worms , or eat leaves. They evolved like this because some finches needed a long beak to get worms in the ground , while other finches would fish and need a thick beak.
The Beagle
This ship is called "The Beagle." On board the Beagle was Charles Darwin, and the crew. In that July The Beagle took part in a flee review celebrating the coronation of King George the fifth. The Beagle was a 10 gun brig sloop of the Royal Navy.
Charles Darwin
Charles Darwin was an english naturalist and geologists. Darwin and his crew took sail on September 15,1835 on The Beagle. It took Darwin and the crew five years to get to the Galapagos Islands. Darwin was amazed by how the same species would look so different. He did quite some research and published his book : On The Origin Of Species which came out in 1859.
Charles Darwin's thoughts
Here are some of Darwin's thoughts , and what was in his journal. "
When on board HMS Beagle as a naturalist, I was much struck with certain facts in the distribution of the inhabitants of South America, and in the geological relations of the present to the past inhabitants of that continent. These facts seemed to me to throw some light on the origin of species - that mystery of mysteries, as it has been called by one of our greatest philosophers." In the long history of humankind (and animal kind, too) those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed.

Natural selection
Natural selection is the process where biologic traits that become either more or less common in a population. Natural selection is the key for evolution. Lets say that apes had a beak instead of a nose, and since we evolved from the ape we would have a beak. We us are nose to smell , which is a key element in our survival. But in this scenerio we have a beak, so we cant smell . That would be a trait that over time, through natural selection, evolve out of in order to survie.
We did evolve from apes
We did in fact evolve from apes. That doesn't mean we look alike, communicate alike, act alike , bu that means we have similar organs , genes, and we are both very intelligent ( luckily we got those genes.) Next time you go to the zoo and see an ape you can think to yourself " Millions of years ago we evolved from you and that means technically we are realted . " And have a good old laugh
