If you answered yes to the above question, then conducting genetic statistics research is for you! Located at MedStats Corporation, the largest medical study group in Pittsburgh, the main task of this job is to design and conduct analyses of genetic datasets from large sample sizes that relate to cardiovascular diseases and its risk factors. Specific classes of genetic variation, such as rare variants, loss of functions variants, and copy number variants should be studied. The studies conducted will need to lead to internationally unique insights into the causes and basis of cardiovascular diseases. Job candidates must also be willing to make important contributions to a series of high-impact publications.
Employee Requirements
In order to join our team, the job candidate must have at least a bachelor's degree in medical statistics, biostatistics, or genetic epidemiology. The candidate must also demonstrate a strong understanding of statistical concepts relating to chronic diseases, a working knowledge of genetics, strong quantitative skills including experience in using relative statistic software, and show strong writing a presentational skills. The candidate must also show the ability to work independently, accurately judge priorities, and have extremely strong communication skills. Salaries range from $57,000 to $70,000 per year depending on experience. Candidate must be willing to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA if not already a resident.
