Counselor's Corner
We have had a wonderful first month of school. There has been lots of learning, relationship building, and setting routines within our classrooms. We are looking forward to a great year ahead.
Our character trait this month is Acceptance. A way to promote acceptance is to foster social interactions in the classroom is to help everyone develop attitudes of acceptance. Using cooperative learning activities, such as dramatic play experiences, or group discussion activities, can increase positive social interactions between children and families.
Did you know that this month is:
National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month
Positive Attitude Month
And also, this month we will recognize:
16-20 National Health Education Week
16-20 National School Bus Safety Week
18 Unity Day β Kindness, Acceptance, Inclusion
23-31 Red Ribbon Week (Drug-Free America)
HEART Felt (Feeding Empty Little Tummies)
This program is offered through some of our local churches. Your child is eligible to receive a small bag of food for the weekend each and every Friday. The food is provided to our students and families at NO additional cost. Contents will include a small meal/supplemental items and snacks for the weekend. If you have any questions or interested in receiving a bag, please feel free to contact Ms. Bryant at 443-550-9763.

β¨SLES FAST β¨
Haunted Hallways 2023
Our Haunted Hallways event is quickly approaching! The FAST team is reaching out to send out as much advance information as possible!
Fill out the registration sign up on the flyer and send it in with your student if you or your business wants to host a table for the event! The event will be held from 6-7:30pm on Wednesday October 25 2023 on the main level of the school.
To host a table you must have the following: be cleared to be a school volunteer for CCPS, candy to hand out to the trick or treaters for the duration of the event, and although its not a necessity we would LOVE to see some themed tables! We think it would make the kids holiday to see as much Halloween fun as we can muster! Doors will open for set up and decorating as soon as the last bus leaves!
We will also need volunteers to help serve refreshments/collect $ in the cafeteria. We will be asking for $1 per pizza slice with a water or a juice box! We will be asking for donations of juices and water to be dropped off at the FAST trailer the M/T/W leading up to the event! We will be sending out a Sign Up Genius via email at the beginning of the month.
Parents and Teachers, we understand how much you put into your kids lives each day and we TRULY appreciate any time or refreshments that youβre able to donate to this event
