Staff Spotlight
Our SSD team had 7 amazing days of Back-To-School Activities to ensure they were ready for the school year! The engaged in professional learning, team building, and time in their classrooms.
Wellness Corner
This can be a hard time of year as you each are supporting your student (s) getting back into the school routine ~ especially with all of the other things life gives us. One of the amazing social workers from a neighboring district shared the below site and visual for parent/guadian self-care. Thank you for all you are doing for your student AND for you ~

Family & Community Engagement (FACE)
I would like to introduce our NEW and AMAZING FACE Liaison - Emily Laboube. She was able to join our VP SSD team for back-to-school events and trainings and immediately fell in love with our community. While she is new to Valley Park, she is not new to education. She has experience as both a paraprofessional and special education teacher. Please do not hesitate to reach out to her for questions, needs, or resources.
FACE Family Workshops and Community Collaborations (Hub Huddles) are now posted on our site at: https://www.ssdmo.org/Page/495
If you need any school supplies, you can contact Adrienne Eaglin at 314-989-8311 to schedule a pickup or shop at the Family Resource Hub at North Tech.

Valley Park Visitor Management System
Valley Park School District welcomes parents and other community members into our schools for special events, meetings, tours, and other occasions. However, keeping our students and staff safe while at school is something we take very seriously. To increase security at all our school buildings, we have started using the Hall Pass Visitor Management System to track visitors. The system is simple and easy to use. The only thing you need is a government-issued ID. For more information, click here.
By the Numbers
Below is the new By the Number fact sheets for the partner districts. It is a great snapshot of SSD within Valley Park!
Social-Emotional Learning Resources
SSD has compiled a list of book and web resources for families surrounding social-emotional learning and trauma-informed practices. Families can play a dual role in raising self-aware, respectful students who know how to manage their emotions, make responsible decisions, and resolve conflicts non-violently.
