Early Life
As a young boy Lincoln was very determined faced hardships such as moving a lot and losing his mother Nancy Lincoln when he was only 8. Born on Feb.12 1792 he was admitted to the union in 1806. Raised not knowing what slaves were, he hated the idea once he saw what slavery was. When he took a trip to New Orleans he saw children being sold off to random strangers and parents being separated from their families. From that day on, Abraham Lincoln was determined and said a nation divided cannot stand, and that he would stop this madness
Middle Life
In March 1830 Abraham Lincoln moved again, but this time it was different, he stood out because of his labor abilities. But in 1832 the Black Hawk War broke out, and the people of the town voted Abraham Lincoln to be their political leader. He proved himself well. Abe made several great decisions and won over the people. This was where his political career started.10 years after he was voted the leader for the town of Illinois he was voted the state legislator. He served single term for legislator from 1848 to 1849.
Late Life
Allowed states to allow or not allow slavery. This made Abe Lincoln clear up his view toward slavery more toward moral indignation. Lincoln had joined the Republican Party in 1856. In 1857, the Supreme Court issued its controversial in 1854 the congress passed the Kansas Nebraska act which decision on the Kansas Nebraska Act. The court issued that African Americans were not citizens and had no inherent rights. In 1858 the senate campaign featured seven debates held in different cities, this time Lincoln went for state legislator but lost to Stephen F. Douglas. This exposed Lincoln and made him go into national politics. In 1860 political operations In Illinois supported Lincoln for presidency because of his “A House Amongst Itself Cannot Stand” speech that won the hearts of many. Out of four people running for president, Abraham Lincoln got 180 out of 303 votes. That was more than 40% of votes. Now he had claimed the title “President of the USA.” But when issues broke out about slavery, the South wanted to separate from the North, but Abe Lincoln said no and so the South declared war. Abraham Lincoln responded to the crisis before him. On January 1 1863 all slaves were declared free. Gradually the war got better and the union won because of the infamous “Gettysburg Battle”. Abe Lincoln died on April 15th 1865.
