AVID is Schoolwide at WSMA!
AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. This program is designed to help students develop the skills they need to be college-ready, with an emphasis on writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading. In addition to our AVID Elective classes, every WSMA classroom has a college corner to promote our college-going culture, and every student has a binder to help develop organizational skills.

Muir HS
Our Sophomores and Juniors showed their hard work and determination while taking their PSAT exams. Finally, the Seniors met with representatives from California community colleges, University of California, and California State representatives to help with completing applications and assist with financial aid applications. Thank you Early College Magnet Counselor Alejandra Diaz for organizing a well thought out and very informative day for our students here at John Muir High School Early College Magnet.
Who we are: Pride, Tradition, and Excellence are what we see going on at JMHS!
