A Message from Mr. Wright
Dear Fitzgerald Elementary Community,
I hope this finds you all in good health and high spirits. As we approach the end of the first quarter, I wanted to take a moment to share some important updates and reminders.
Our vision for Fitzgerald School remains steadfast: "A plane to connect, experience, and thrive." We are committed to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student can flourish.
To stay informed about your child's academic progress, please remember to log into Gradebook regularly. Our dedicated teachers diligently update grades, ensuring that you have access to the most up-to-date information regarding your child's performance.
I am pleased to inform you that we have recently completed our baseline assessments. Based on the results, we have identified students who may benefit from intervention services or screening, which could involve remediation or enrichment. Eligible students will receive these services primarily during their designated "core extension" or an another identified time. Core extension is specifically built into our school schedule to provide targeted support and enrichment opportunities for all students.
As a school, our focus this year is on delivering equitable instruction to ensure that all students have the opportunity to learn at high levels. This means employing multiple strategies, fostering critical thinking skills, and providing universal access to enrichment opportunities for every student.
We kindly request your continued support in keeping informed about what your child is learning in class. Regular communication between home and school plays a vital role in your child's educational journey. Additionally, we encourage you to engage in daily reading activities with your child, as reading together fosters a love for learning and strengthens their literacy skills.
At Fitzgerald, we truly believe that it is a place to connect, experience, and THRIVE! We are grateful for your ongoing support and partnership in creating a nurturing and enriching educational environment.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We value your feedback and are here to support you and your child throughout the school year.
Lastly, I want to recognize that the month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dyslexia Awareness Month, Filipino American History Month, National Italian American Heritage Month, Polish American Heritage Month, National Physical Therapy Month, VA Disability History and Awareness Month
Thank you for being an integral part of our Fitzgerald School community!
Best regards,
George Wright
