LCMS Weekly Newsletter
By Tami Gunset
DUE April 16
Parents,
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ------ PLEASE READ!
*** Students need to begin turning in their desk shields provided for them back in the fall semester. Please have them turn those in to their third period black day teachers. As we approach exemptions, it is important that students return this item.
*** Students need to make sure that they know where their iPad charging block and cord are located, as these items will need to be turned in before final exemptions will be granted. Keyboards along with iPads will be turned in the week of May 17 for students to get the final signature for exemptions.
*** All cafeteria charges need to be cleared by the week of May 17. Many students have a balance due to going through the snack bar line. Please help us with these charges as it is important for your child to begin the new school year with no balances.
Spring exemptions will be here soon and we want to ensure that your child qualifies to exempt their spring semester test. Below you will find all the criteria to exempt.
Students, please VOTE for Teacher of the Year!

Semester Final Exemption Criteria
Due to STAAR testing being so late in the semester, we will implement exemptions for the second semester.
In order to exempt a final, a student must have at least a 75 average for the semester and meet the following attendance requirements:
No more than three tardies in any one period (If the class is double-blocked, students cannot have five or more tardies for any one period to be eligible for an exemption)
No more than three absences in any one period of the class the student wants to exempt (If the class is double-blocked, students cannot have five or more absences for any one period to be eligible for an exemption)
Perfect attendance exemptions can be used for a class with a 70 average or above, as long as the student has met attendance requirements
Through unit assessment data, students must show progress through the spring semester
Library and Cafeteria fines need to be reconciled before exemptions can be signed for academics
ALL things issued by the district for iPad. iPad, iPad case, charging block, charging cord and Logitech crayon.

2019-20 School Report Card for LCMS
Please see the attached documents regarding the 2019-20 School Report Card for Lubbock-Cooper Middle School.
The purpose of the SRC is to inform parents and guardians about a campus’ individual characteristics and its academic performance. Due to COVID-19, all campuses and districts received a label of Not Rated: Declared State of Disaster for the 2019–20 school year. Therefore, several data points have not been updated, including STAAR® and academic growth data.
