A Note from the Principal
Dear Affton Family;
Last week was an emotionally challenging week for many of us. I want to commend the faculty and staff for the professionalism with which they handled their grief. I cannot think of much that is harder than dealing with personal loss and maintaining as the rock our students need as they face mourning for what may be one of the first times in their young lives. AHS modeled a very solid, responsible, and reflective approach to the situation for them. Please everyone continue to care for yourselves as the personal emotions may come into play for you for quite some time.
You should have received your student’s first trimester report card on Friday. If you have not please check Tyler SIS or contact your student’s counselor to verify achievement for the start of the year. We will be holding our fall parent teacher conferences on October 15 and 17 from 4:30-7:30. This is the perfect time to start a conversation about effective ways to bring out the best in your student. The teamwork between school and home is critical to ensuring the kids stay on track and reach all of their goals. We look forward to seeing all of you there!
