Vaccination Clinic Information
Dear Chariho Families,
We have confirmed that we will be hosting a 5-11 vaccination clinic at Chariho Regional Middle School on Friday, November 12, 2021, starting at 3 pm. The clinic will be open to anyone ages 5-11. Please note students must be 5-11 on or before November 12, 2021, to get vaccinated.
COVID-19 vaccines help protect against the Delta variant of COVID-19, which spreads more easily and quickly than other variants. The state is asking everyone who is eligible to be fully vaccinated.
As a reminder, students who are vaccinated and who are asymptomatic will not need to quarantine if they become a close contact per RIDOH guidance.
Per the state, the registration window for this clinic will close on November 11.

Annual Chariho Food Drive
Our school has won this district competition last year and have the banner proudly hanging by the office. Let's continue to brag that Hope Valley is the smallest school with the biggest heart!
Boxes will be provided for each classroom to collect canned food. The 4th grade will make posters as a reminder to all of what can be donated, how long the food drive lasts, and that everything collected goes right back to the Chariho community.
LET'S DO THIS AGAIN!
Collection COVID Testing Event
Going forward, we will have a collection PCR screening event every Wednesday. Only those families who opted their child in can participate. If you have not opted in yet, you can still sign your child up (see information below). We will begin testing as early as 8:00 am if families want to drop off their child to school early. They would go to the library door to buzz and they will be escorted to the nurse's clinic. Once they are done they will go to the gym and wait for the school day to start. If you cannot get your child in before school, we can get them tested once they get to school. Again, only those that have opted in will get tested. The actual test will be a very simple, painless, and quick swap of both nostrils. We have trained staff that will assist with the swabbing. If you have any questions, please call the school.
Here is the information regarding the program and how to register:
Our district has chosen to participate in Operation Expanded Testing, a program supported and
funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide COVID-19 PCR
testing to K-12 schools at no cost to the school. Participation in this program helps schools stay safer against the risk of COVID-19. This program will help keep students in the classroom and prevent the spread of COVID-19 via weekly testing for students and staff. Four staff members which includes myself and Nurse Tara have been trained.
To opt into the program, please visit the following site: Link to register child for testing
The registration process takes less than 5 minutes. For a short video guide on “how to” complete the registration/consent, activate your child’s online account to view results: View Video Here
