FROM THE HEAD'S DESK
I hope that the words of Professor Andrew Williams our Speech Day Guest will have been noted by the boys. He spoke of the impact STEM will have in the future years in helping us to meet the challenges of Global change to come. I thanked the boys for their excellent behaviour through the event in a very hot auditorium and as they walked to and from the Magnet.
We are having a few teething problems as the new term starts with the timings of the coaches, we are constantly reviewing the situation to ensure that the coaches run as smoothly as possible and I apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Today Tom Crossfield (Headboy) and his team did an excellent job in leading the assembly for Jeans for Genes, my thanks to them, comparing Mr Bowen to a Bulldog and Mr Bretherton to a Hamster was a bit harsh.
A great start to the Rugby last Saturday with wins across the board , well done to all players concerned. In keeping with the thoughts from Speech Day.
Saving our planet, lifting people out of poverty, advancing economic growth... these are one and the same fight. We must connect the dots between climate change, water scarcity, energy shortages, global health, food security and women's empowerment. Solutions to one problem must be solutions for all. Ban Ki-moon
