LEADERSHIP UPDATE
JAN 2019
MISSION STATEMENT
SPRING 2019
What are these things? In short DISCIPLESHIP is taking people around you on a journey of becoming more like Christ in head, heart, mind, and action. MISSIONS is intentionally engaging the lost and unengaged around us with and for the Gospel.
So what does that look like? Well in short here's a rough sketch of the basic expectations for the members of the youth group for the Spring 2019
Discipleship Rubric
- For DG leader & College Sponsor to continue to pour in to each of their members. Moving from building relationships to deepening their relationship, esp. coaching them in areas of theology and missions
- For youth (members) to actively identify someone to begin to disciple. By the end of Spring 2019 each member of CBC Youth should have one person that they are beginning the process of discipleship with.
- Some questions: Does our group know what discipleship means? What does discipleship NOT mean? Whether our students are "ready" or not is not the question, all are called to disciple...what does that look like for each of them? Can those who are NOT christian be a discipler?
Missions Rubric
- For our youth group as a whole to partner with at least 2 major churches or organizations. Then commit to pray, give, and communicate regularly month to month.
- (Off campus) For each of our youth (members) to engage 5 people with the Gospel while maintaining consistent communication and follow up with 3 of those 5.
- (On campus) For each of our youth (members) to invite 3 people to DGs while trying to maintain at least 1 of those for the long run.
- Some questions: What does missions mean? what does missions NOT mean? Where are the most obvious mission fields? Where are the "hidden" mission fields? How does one see on-line and social media as a mission field? What are ways to train our students to do missions more effectively? What is a goal for your group this semester? What is a big dream for your group this semester?
