The LJHS Jazz students will be performing at La Quinta restaurant in downtown Aurora on Tuesday, December 11th at 6:30 pm. We will meet at LJHS at 5:00 sharp. The bus leaves at 5:15 and we will arrive to the restaurant at approximately 5:45.
The Jazz Band will perform from 6:30-6:45, and the Jazz Ensemble will perform from 6:50-7:15 (Fly me to the Moon, Girl from Ipanema, Feliz Navidad, Santa Baby, Rockin Merry Christmas)
We will stay as a group and watch the Pete Ellman Big Band perform from 7:30-8:00. We will leave at approximately 8:10 and return to LJHS at approximately 8:45 pm.
Students received a pink permission slip in rehearsal this week. Please sign it and return it as soon as possible.
Families are encouraged to join us! This will be a more relaxed atmosphere, so feel free to enjoy dinner at the restaurant before, during, or after our performance, and be sure to stick around for some great jazz from the professionals after we're done! I would encourage you to call and make a reservation. The phone number is 630-859-4000. Be sure to mention that you are with the jazz band so they seat you in the correct room.
PARKING (for parents): Drive to the Aurora Township building (80 N Broadway, Aurora, IL 60505). Turn off of N Broadway at the Spring Street intersection toward the river and park in the lot behind the Township building. E New York is a one way and is difficult to navigate so I would advise not even turning on to it. La Quinta is on the corner of N Broadway and E New York. When you get to the restaurant, go inside and up the stairs.
Students can ride home with their parents when the evening is over, but Mr. Schraub MUST be notified.
