SAINT'S SCOOP
St. Martin's Catholic Elementary School - November 19, 2021
Principal's Message
This year, our schools are embracing the theme of “Called to More!” In this theme, we are exploring who we are, made in the image and likeness of God and called to greatness through the power of God’s grace.
Our Scriptural inspiration this year is taken from the book of Esther. Esther, though possessing physical riches, was called to something more, in service to her people and to God. Amidst the various voices that bombard us today, we are asked to hear the small, still voice of God calling us to who we were meant to be.
Today we give thanks for the gift of Catholic Education and the partnership of Parish, school and home that allow us to pass on the light of faith, the joy of faith, to our young people. Please continue to pray for St. Martin's Catholic School, for all Elk Island Catholic Schools and for Catholic Education.
Thank-you and may God bless.

Relaunch of Alberta Health Services Provincial Oral Health Program for K, Gr. 1, Gr. 2
On behalf of Alberta Health Services (AHS), I would like to thank you for your continued support of the preventive oral health services in your school. AHS is committed to supporting student oral health and contributing to their learning and well-being.
School based preventive oral health services are effective in reducing tooth decay. AHS is prepared and ready to continue offering oral health preventive services to students in your elementary school.
We will relaunch our provincial fluoride varnish applications, and subsequently phase in the dental sealant service at a later date if previously offered in your school. The delivery of AHS oral health preventive services will comply with your school strategies to mitigate safety concerns about the transmission of COVID-19. Additionally, AHS oral health professionals follow provincial protocols for the delivery of preventive services that include infection prevention and control measures.
