Weekly Updates 10/11/19
Hello Families,
We hope you have had an enjoyable week and encourage you to take some time to relax with the children during this 3 day weekend! The teachers worked very hard on making sure the progress reports went home with detailed information and a good idea of what students will be working on before the end of the first trimester. We have also partnered this year with the Big Shoulders Fund Data-Driven Initiative. Every month we have a wonderful instructional coach to come and work with teachers on using data to drive instruction and promote student growth. It has been a great addition for teachers to use data and goal setting for students individually and as a class. I will share results in the coming months on what students and teachers have produced.
I want to thank all families who donated to the "Pink" Out of Uniform today. We have risen close to $200 for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Please use the link below for more information https://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/breast-cancer-awareness-month. According to the World Health Organization, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, claiming the lives of hundreds of thousands of women each year and affecting countries at all levels of modernization. We donated to this organization in hopes of helping with early detection, but there are many ways to help. Please use the link for more information and ways to help.
We want to wish Mr. H good luck this weekend as he takes on the special challenge of running the Chicago Marathon for Big Shoulders! All proceeds donated will be used to help Maternity B.V.M. and other inner-city Catholic schools. Please continue to pray and encourage him as he runs 26.2 miles!
Sadly, we do have to share that our Marketing and Enrollment Director, Mr. Mario, will be leaving the BVM community. He has taken an opportunity to work with the Chicago Charter School network, starting at the end of next week. Mr. Mario has been a great addition to our school for the last two years and we wish him the best as he begins this new chapter in his life. Mr. Mario had worked for the Archdiocese of Chicago for 8 years and is leaving with great memories and friends. We will be in search of a new Marketing and Enrollment Director and are working closely with Big Shoulders and the Archdiocese for finding a replacement by December.

Actualizaciones Semanales
Hola familias
