New Beginnings Class Newsletter
For the Week of 10/30-11/3
What We Worked On
Here's what we worked on this week:
Read Aloud- We read the story "La Tortuga" and sequenced events from the story.
Skills- We introduced the letter "F" and reviewed counting 1-5. We worked on the color yellow and the shape square.
What Can I Do?
When reading a story, take time to ask your child questions about what they're reading. Ask them what they think will happen next. Even if your child does not have many words yet, you can ask them open-ended questions and then ask them "yes or no" questions. Getting your child to relate to a story is the first step to answering comprehension questions.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Thank you to all the parents who attended yesterday's parent teacher conferences. It's always so nice to touch base with everyone and see what progress you have noticed as well. Our next round of conferences will be on November 15th. I'm sending home the sign up for those who have not yet told me a time that would be good for them to meet. Please send it back as soon as you can.
Dressing for the Weather
We are going to try to play outside for as long as possible. Please make sure your child has hats, mittens, and a warm coat.
It can also be on the cooler side in our classroom so you might want to send in an extra sweatshirt for your child to keep here.
Sickness
Our class seems to be getting hit hard with a virus. Remember that your child needs to be fever free for 24 hours before coming back to school. Please do what you think is best for your child and do not feel guilty about them missing school. If they are sick, they are not themselves and not really learning. We try our best, but we can't replace you for providing exactly what your child needs to feel better.
Thank you for all that you do to help us keep your child happy and well! We appreciate it so much!
Remind App
We've had some trouble reaching parents this year as some of our numbers still have not been updated. I've been the most successful reaching parents through our Remind app. Please consider signing up for it.
If you have used Remind in the past with me, please update to our class for this year. Here's what you need to do:
- Send a text to the number 81010 with the message @3h29992
- Download the Remind app and then put in the code "@3h29992" to join our class.
